Nelle sue opere Rodrigo Torres trova un equilibrio tra il naturale e il fantastico, assumendo toni tautologici ed enigmatici. Le sue opere sono soprattutto sculture in ceramica, oggetti tridimensionali che si fondono con fotografie e dipinti, in una sorta di simbiosi: un'elaborazione di un linguaggio visivo dirompente. Infuse di slittamenti ottici e trasformazioni illusorie, forme e trame si intrecciano con la natura della materia. Torres mette in sfida il carattere decorativo contro quello museologico: le sue ceramiche infondono dubbi e aprono a svariati punti di vista, attraverso una tecnica iperdettagliata. Vasi, barattoli, frutta, verdura, piccoli oggetti, imballaggi protettivi, tra gli altri oggetti di scena e di uso quotidiano: tutti questi materiali mescolati sono ancora una volta in uno spazio di mimesi. L'artista coinvolge orizzonti e geometrie in sculture che sfidano lo spettatore in dicotomie tra realtà e finzione, tra le quali tutto questo prende forma.

Rodrigo Torres’s artwork approaches the natural and the imagined with balance and his artworks take on tautological and enigmatic tones. Most of his works are ceramic sculptures, three-dimensional objects that blend with photographs and paintings, coming together in a symbiosis: an elaboration of a disruptive visual language. Infused with optical displacements and illusory transformations these shapes and textures intercross with the nature of the material. Torres places the decorative in opposition to the museological character: his ceramics instill doubts and open polarities through a hyper-detailed technique. Vases, jars, fruits, vegetables, small objects, protective packaging among other props and everyday frills: all these various materials are once again in a space of mimesis. The artist invokes horizons and geometries in sculptures that challenge the viewer, in dichotomies of reality and fiction, within which his creations take on form.
